I am writing today, because I want to remember this time in my life. The last two years have been a seemingly unending, brutal at times with its break-neck pace. The obstacles, fears and unexpected things that would battle to thwart my hope… I will never forget those times.
As I strive to be the woman God wants me to be, seeking his direction, praying to choose well. Doing my best to find my way, sleep deprived more nights than I’d like to admit as I near finishing school…something I always wanted to do and for many years seemed out of sight. It is comforting to reflect on how God is always there.
I will never cease to be amazed at the God of Surprises…He should also be called, The God of Humor, because he can make me laugh, really laugh. Like the old saying goes, tell God your plans and he will laugh! I enjoy pondering on how he has a way of affecting change in our lives.
I have to remind myself not to imagine the future, rather if I just focus on today and doing his will in the small things, all things, my life, my path, my future will be as he desires. Truly that is all I want, I want God’s will for my life, as I know he is a good God and wants my happiness. He wants your happiness, it is just trust he requires of us.
And now that the winter season is upon us it brings my heart great hope for the joy of the season. I look forward to soak in this time of year. I am grateful for my friends and family who supported me throughout the year as I relied on their prayers, and am forever grateful for their love for me. They know who they are and know I will never forget their kindness.
Where are you in your life right now? What do you want to remember? I pray and hope you remember those you love and don’t rush your life away. Take some time to slow down and just be. Enjoy the day and the gifts God has provided for you. The gifts and blessings are there, even amist the chaos and busyness of the world. Sometimes we just need to pause and we will see his blessings. Know, he is there seeking you. God wants you to know you can do all things through him. He will be your guide every step of the way…just ask. Never hesitate to ask for what you need…One of my favorite quotes is, “You have not, because you ask not”.
I pray you remember to enjoy the moment, live and love. Be grateful for all that has shaped and made you who you are today. God allows everything for a purpose and what a comfort it is, to know God has been there every step of the way…
Excellent post Amanda. Congratulations on nearing your goal of finishing school! You reminded me of a favorite scripture, and a favorite song.
“Be still,…” – Psalm 46:10

Great post Amanda. You have a wonderful way with words. I always want to “Like” your posts but I don’t see a place to hit the Like button. Am I missing it? You wrote a great message there….to slow down and enjoy today rather than worry about the future. And to pray and ask for what you need. God will provide.
Thank you Reid! For your words and I appreciate your comments. You know, I don’t think I’ve seen a Like button either…I’ll have to look now. And yes God will always provide, in his time and his way…
